(CPR)
CPR Training:
Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) teaches participants how to respond
to life-threatening emergencies. This course focuses on primary care through
a combination of knowledge development, skills development and realistic scenario
practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to provide
care when emergency situations arise.
The skills taught in the Wet N Rugged Sports Primary Care (CPR) course
includes:
- Scene Safety Assessment
- Universal Precautions - Communicable Disease Protection, including
barrier use
- Primary Assessment
- Rescue Breathing
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Conscious and Unconscious Obstructed Airway Management
- Serious Bleeding Management
- Shock Management
- Spinal Injury Management
Additional Advanced Skills included in this course:
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
- Emergency Oxygen Use Orientation
About AED training:
The Emergency First Response Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
training builds on the skills learned in the Primary Care (CPR) course
to teach the proper AED use. This life saving device can increase the
chance of survival from a cardiac arrest by fifty percent. During this
course you'll review the basic principles of Primary Care (CPR) and
learn how to deploy and use an AED in an emergency situation.
NOTE: The AED training course can be presented separately for participants
who already hold a CPR qualification from another first aid training institute.
Course Structure
The course is usually run over two consecutive days of approximately
8 hours each or, alternatively, over four evening lectures of 4 hours
each. For group bookings the course structure can be tailored to suit
your requirements.
Prerequisites
- The course is open to anyone over the age of 14; no prior first aid
training is required.
